Elizabeth&39;s nickname (昵称 ) is Betty, and people usually call her that. She is the secretary of Jesse&39;s boss. Jesse got to know the Watsons two years ago, and he and Dave have become good friends. Sometimes they go fishing or to a ball game together.

The Watsons live in a small apartment in a suburb of NewYork City. The offices where Betty works are in downtown NewYork, and she has to take a bus and two subway trains to go to work every day. It takes her about one hour to get there. She finds the trip boring and tiring. She wants to stay home in order to take care of the family and enjoy the children. The Watsons have three children. Their daughter Sue is in the fourth grade and their son Paul is in the second grade. They also have a two-year-old daughter, Ann.

The children like Jesse; he is their hero. He tells them stories about foreign countries, about Africa and China, about the Pacific and Japan; he has never even seen most of these countries. He knows about fast cars and new inventions. The Watson children think that Jesse is full of adventures; he is fascinating to them. Frequently he takes them to the park and joins them in their games.

Today Jesse brought Sue a record of her favorite music, because she has a new record player. He also brought Paul a toy truck and Ann a plastic (塑料 ) book with bright pictures, and Betty a bunch of flowes, Betty cooked a nice turkey, and they all ate too much. After dinner the children wanted to go out to the park with Jesse. But they had to stay home, because it was raining. Later, Dave and Jesse sat down in front of the TV to watch a football game.

Anderson"s group of international health experts sponsored by the Commonwealth Fund spent five years working on the study， getting the latest possible data from the five countries on areas such as breast cancer and leukemia survival， suicide rates， death rates from asthma， vaccination rates and cancer screening.

It was the anti-globalization movement that really put globalization on the map. As a word it has existed since the 1960s, but the protests against this allegedly new process, which its opponents condemn as a way of ordering people&39;s lives, brought globalization out of the financial and academic worlds and into everyday current affairs.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the business model called the "globalize" financial market came to be seen as an entity that could have more than just an economic impact on the parts of the world it touched.Globalization came to be seen as more than simply a way of doing business, or running financial markets-it became a process. From then on the word took on a life of its own.

So how does the globalize market work？ It is modern communications that make it possible; for the British service sector to deal with its customers through a call centre in India, or for a sportswear (运动服 )manufacturer to design its products in Europe, make them in southeast Asia and sell them in North America.

But this is where the anti-globalization side gets stuck in (关注) .If these practices replace domestic economic life with an economy that is heavily influenced or controlled by overseas, then the creation of a globalize economic model and the process of globalization can also be seen as a surrender of power to the corporations, or a means of keeping poorer nations in their place.

Not everyone agrees that globalization is necessarily evil, or that globalize corporations are running the lives of individuals or are more powerful than nations. Some say that the spread of globalization, free markets and free trade into the developing world is the best way to beat poverty the only problem is that free markets and free trade do not yet truly exist.

Globalization can be seen as a positive, negative or even marginal process. And regardless of whether it works for good or ill, globalization&39;s exact meaning will continue to be the subject of debate among those who oppose, support or simply observe it.

DNA is the genetic material found within the cell nuclei of all living things. In mammals the strands of DNA are grouped into structures called chromosomes. With the exception of identical siblings （as in identical twins）， the complete DNA of each individual is unique.

In criminal investigations， DNA fingerprints derived from evidence collected at the crime scene are compared to the DNA fingerprints of suspects. Generally， courts have accepted the reliability of DNA testing and admitted DNA test results into evidence. However， DNA fingerprinting is controversial in a number of areas: the accuracy of the results， the cost of testing，and the possible misuse of the technique.

The accuracy of DNA fingerprinting has been challenged for several reasons. First， because DNA segments rather than complete DNA strands are "fingerprinted" ; a DNA fingerprint may not be unique; large-scale research to confirn the uniqueness of DNA fingerprinting test results has not been conducted. In addition， DNA fingerprinting is often done in private laboratories that may not follow uniform. testing standards and quality controls. Also， since human beings must interpret the test， human error could lead to false results.

DNA fingerprinting is expensive. Suspects who are unable to provide their own DNA to experts may not be able to successfully defend themselves against charges based on DNA evidence.

The galactocentric universe59puts the earth and its life near the edge of one great galaxy in a universe of millions of galaxies. People suspected that "lucky", as he was called by friends, wanted to kill his wife he no longer lived with. They say that Lucan entered his old house and in the dark, killed the nanny by mistake.＜br＞

His estranged (分居的) wife heard noises, came downstairs and was also attacked, but managed to escape. Seven months after the murder, a jury concluded that Lucan had killed the nanny.＜br＞

What happened next is unclear, but there are several theories which fall into one of three categories: he may have killed himself, he could have escaped or he might have been killed. It appears that the night after the murder, "lucky" borrowed a car and drove it. Lucan&39;s friend Aspinall said in an interview that he thought Lucan had committed suicide by sinking his boat in the English Channel.＜br＞

Another version of events says that "lucky" left the blood-soaked car on the coast and took a ferry to France. He was met there by someone who drove him to safety in another country.＜br＞

However, after a time, his rescuers became worried that they would become involved in the murder too and so Lucan was killed.＜br＞

A further fascinating theory was made in the book Dead Lucky by Duncan Maclaughlin, a former detective. He believes that Lucan travelled to Goa, India, where he assumed the identity of a Mr. Barry Haplin. Lucan then lived in Goa till his death in 1996. In the end the claim turned out to be a case of mistaken identity. The man who died in 1996 was really Haplin, an ex-schoolteacher turned hippy. So what is the truth about "lucky"？ DNA testing has solved many murder cases, but who knows if it can close the book on this one.
