Hi all,I have been trying to make MR for Maya 4.5 network rendering work properly for a fe

Hi all,

I have been trying to make MR for Maya 4.5 network rendering work properly for a few weeks.

I have a dual processor (with MR for Maya 4.5 final) and a single processor (with MR for Maya 4.5 final and MR 3.1 Stand alone) connected in a LAN through a 3com 812 hub/router. These are the problems I get when I run a render over the network:

— No matter in which PC I start the rendering from command line (mayarender_with_mr) it uses this machine for the rendering heavy process, despite its name doesn't appear in the maya. rayhosts ... so MR always takes the PC where I start the rendering as a rendering node no matter what it's in maya. rayhosts file.

— When I use both PCs for rendering, it freezes in the final gathering computing of any of the first frames (depending how heavy the final gather settings are). No error messages, it just stops.

— Finally when I start the network rendering from the dual Proc PC, it takes more time per frame. using the other node on the network than rendering alone.

Hope you can help me,

thanks for your time

What is wrong according to the following letter?

A.His computer.

B.His processors.

C.His network.

D.His rendering.

M: Judy, I haven't seen you in weeks. Where have you been.?

W: In Florida.

M: What? Vacationing while the rest of us have been studying on campus in the February cold.

W: Not exactly. I spent most of my time underwater.

M: I don't understand.

W: I was on a special field trip. I went with my marine biology class.

M: So you went Scuba diving, what were you looking for, sunken treasure?

W: You might say so. The sea is full of treasures, 'all kinds of strange fascination things.

M: Oh, how wonderful it is.

W: Yeah, by concentrating, I was able to see the outlines of lots of different plants and animals under the sea. In fact, our professor even took photographs of small oceanic snails.

听力原文:M: Hi, Sue. Where have you been?

W: Oh. Hi, Dan. I was just at the library. I have to hand in my biology paper tomorrow.

M: Tomorrow? Oh, no. I thought it wasn't due till Monday.

W: Oh. Don't worry. It is due Monday. But I'm going away for the weekend and won't be back till Monday night.

M: Oh, where are you going?

W: California. We're having a family reunion. It's my grandmother's ninetieth birthday. So all the cousins and aunts and uncles are going. She planned the whole thing herself.

M: Wow. That's great. How many people will be there?

W: Around sixty. My family is big and spread out but we're pretty dose. So have you started working on your biology paper?

M: Yeah. I'm doing it on bees and how they're able to recognize whether another bee is related to them.

W: How can they tell?

M: They use their sense of smell. The honey bees guard their nests this way. If another bee approaches the nest, the guard determines if the new bee is familiar. If it is, it's allowed to enter.

W: Interesting. Can other insects do this? Well, the paper wasps can. Each wasp nest has a special combination of plant fibers and se the wasps that live there have a unique smell. Those two are the only kinds I've read about so far.

M: Well, you've still got time. It sounds like that the bees are picky about who comes to their family reunion.

W: You might say that. The sea is full of treasures, all kinds of strange fascinating organisms. Our class concentrated on studying plankton.

M: I thought plankton was too small to be seen.

W: That's a common misconception. The term Plankton covers a wide variety of freely floating plants and animals from microscopic one-celled organisms to large ones such as the common jellyfish.

M: Jellyfish may be large enough to be seen, but they are transparent, aren't they?

W: Yes, most plankton have transparent tissues as a protective cover-up. It makes them practically invisible to predators.

M: But not invisible to your biology class, I hype.

W: By concentrating, I was able to see the outlines of lots of different plankton, plants and animals. In fact, our professor even took photographs of small oceanic snails.

听力原文:M: Hi Diana, mind if I sit down?

W: Not at all, Jerry. How have you been?

M: Good. But I'm surprised to see you on the city bus. Is your car in the shop?

W: No. I've just been thinking a lot about the environment lately. I think the air will be a lot cleaner if we all use public transportation when we could.

M: You are right. The diesel bus isn't exactly pollution free.

W: True. But they'll be running a lot cleaner soon. We were just talking about that in my environmental engineering class.

M: What's the city going to do? Install pollution filters in the buses?

W: They could, but those filters make the engines work harder and really cut down on fuel efficiency. Instead they found a way to make their engines more efficient.

M: How?

W: Well, there is a material called the coniine oxide. It's a really good insulator. And a thick coat of it gets sprayed on the certain part of the engine.

M: An insulator?

W: Yeah. Actually, what it does is to reflect back the heat of burning fuel. So the fuel will bum more completely.

M: Sounds like people should all go out and get this stuff to spray their car engines.

W: Well, it's not really that easy. You first have to heat the material over 10,000 degrees and then, well, you get the idea. It's not something you or I can do ourselves.

(27)

A.How to produce pollution free bus.

B.How to prevent our environment from being polluted.

C.Whether to ride a passenger bus or a private car.

D.How to reduce the pollutants produced by bus.

W: Well, fortunately for me, I received four-year academic scholarship. That pays for all of my school expenses.

M: Wow. That's great.

W: Yeah. How about you? Are you working your way through school?

M: Yeah, I work three times a week at a restaurant near campus.

W: Oh, what do you do there?
