听力原文:W: Look, I'm sorry, but the books for Chemistry 100 aren't in yet.

M: Why not? School started last week.

W: I really don't know. Maybe the professor ordered them late, or the publisher ran out of then and they are on back order.

M: This is awful. I'm worried about this course anyway. I didn't do that well in chemistry in high school.

W: I know what you mean. Did you check the used book section?

M: Yes. No luck there.

W: Okay. Look, why don't you go over to the library? I'll bet that the professor put at least one copy on reserve.

M: Do you think so? That would he great. At least I could make copies of the pages that I need until the books come in. Oh, wait. If there's only one copy, everyone will be trying to do that.

W: True, well, we do have a bulletin heard. You could put a notice up that you are looking for a book for Chemistry 100, and maybe someone who has it will want to sell it directly to you. Do you have a phone in the dorm?

M: Yeah. I'll just put my name and phone number on the notice. That's a great idea! Where's the bulletin board?

W: By the T-shirts and clothing near the front door. Oh, and he sure to put down the exact title of the hook, too, because they don't always use the same one.

听力原文:W: Art Department, the treasurer Brown speaking.

M: Hello, Professor Brown, my name is Frank Meloy. I'm thinking of taking your course in painting, and I'm calling to find out more about it.

W: Have you ever worked with paints?

M: I've done very little painting at all. I'm a chemistry major, but I enjoy drawing and the course description says that any student can sign up. I assume that means that experience in painting isn't necessary.

W: Yes, that's right. We'll be using water paints instead of oils because they are easier to handle and dry more quickly. Also, beginning students can get a good feel for what they can do with textures by working with water paints.

M: I got a roommate who is interested in painting too. My roommate is also a chemistry major but he has painted quite a bit. If he signed up for the course, would he find it too easy?

W: No, he could work on using techniques he already knows and applying them to principles of composition, color and design. There's something for everyone in this course.

M: One mare question: Do we need to bring our own brushes and paints to class?

W: Yes, you can buy them at the bookstore. They are quite easy to get. I'll provide drawing boards and any other supplies that are necessary. I hope you decide to join us.

M: It sounds interesting, I'll definitely register today.

W: Fine. See you next Monday afternoon. Don't forget your brushes and paints.

What does the man want to know?

(20)

A.The location of an art school.

B.Information about a course."

C.The differences between two paintings.

D.Where to register a course.
