第1题

听力原文: Diet, diet, diet! It gets to be a constant battle for many of us to stay fit
and healthy. But diets dont always allow us to learn new eating habits, improve our self-image, or make lifestyle. changes. Developing good eating habits and proper exercise is a permanent issue. And its the main topic of this workshop. In order to keep a healthy diet and minimise the risk of disease, its essential to eat a diet that consists of low-fat foods and to maximise energy with carbohydrates. Beef, nuts, oils, and most dairy products are rich in fat, so you should eat less of those; while pastry, rice, potatoes, and bread contain almost no fat and are a high-energy source of complex carbohydrates. You know that many food manufactures use sugar to make low-fat or fat-free foods taste good, but dont worry too much about that. You dont necessarily "get fat" by eating sugar, since sugar is an indirect fat. When you exercise, carbohydrates are the first calories to burn. If you want to burn off fat, its good to do some sort of aerobic exercise such as biking, swimming, running, or fast walking. But you have to keep doing this exercise for at least twenty minutes because it takes about that long before we start to burn fat. And then the effect of burning fat decreases after 45 minutes of exercise. So if you do some sort of aerobic exercise for three to four days a week for about thirty to forty minutes, youll have an effective schedule for reducing weight. Questions 20 to 22 are based on the passage you have just heard. 20. According to the speaker, which should you eat more? 21. What does the speaker say is burned at the beginning of exercise? 22. According to the speaker, what is the most effective exercise time schedule for reducing weight?20.

A.Carbohydrates.

B.Indirect fat.

C.Body fluid.

D.Fat.

Im not that out of shape. W: You are not that out of shape? It has been at least 5 years since you played last. You ought to have a physical examination before you begin. M: Well, OK, Ill follow your advice. But dont fuss too much about my health. At least I had kept training for more than 15 years before graduating. You should try eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. Dont you think you are not as fit as before? M: Oh, yeah, youre probably right. From today on, all ice cream in our refrigerator belongs to you. I will never touch it. W: Good! And you should take up a little weight training to strengthen your muscles. M: Weight training? Come on! Is there anything else? W: Oh, you need to go to bed early instead of watching TV till midnight. M: Hey, youre starting to sound like my mother. 听力原文:M: Hi, Christi, I brought you some tea.

W: Thanks, Mark . Too bad it' s not apple tea, like in Turkey.

M: Yeah, too bad! You really liked living in Turkey, didn' t you?

W: Yeah, it was great. Turkish people are so warm and generous.

M: How do you like the food in Turkey, Christi?

W: Oh, the food was fantastic! But you know what I couldn't get used to? How much people expected me to eat, I gained so much weight while I was living there!

M: Yes, it' s so polite to be generous. We think people aren' t polite if they don' t offer a lot of food.

W: I know. I also learned that it' s not polite for the guest to accept the offer of food at first.

M: Yes, that' s definitely true! If you' re the guest, you must refuse the first two offers of food.

W: The first time I had dinner at a Turkish home, ! felt rude refusing food. So I ate everything. And I kept on eating. . , and eating. Every time the host offered me something, I ate it.

M: Do you know how to stop the host from offering you food? You must leave some food on your plate. That way the host knows that you' re full.

W: Oh, is that the trick? In the United States, we usually eat everything. You don' t want the host to think that you don' t like the food.

M: That is a difference. You know what happened to me the first time I had inner at an American home? When my hostess offered mo a second helping of food, I said" no" the first time, to be polite. But she didn' t offer again! I was still hungry when I left the house!

W: Americans think it' s not polite to insist. We don' t want to force you to eat more if you don' t want more. So if you say" no" the first time, we believe what you say and we don' t offer again.

M: I learned that lesson the hard way. Now if someone asks me if I want something, I say "yes" the first time -- even though I feel rode.

W: Would you like something to eat?

M: No, no, I am not hungry.

W: Ha, ha.

听力原文: Health food is a general term applied to all kinds of food that are considered more healthful than the types of foods widely sold in supermarkets. For instance, whole grains, fried beaus, and corn oil are health foods. A narrower classification of health food is natural food, which is used to distinguish between types of the same food. Raw honey is a natural sweetener, whereas relined sugar is not. Fresh fruit is a natural food, but canned fruit, with sugars and other additives, is not. The most precise term of all and the narrowest classification within health food is organic food, which is used to describe food that has been grown on a particular kind of farm. Fruits and vegetables that are grown in gardens that are only treated with organic fertilizers, that are not sprayed with poisonous insecticides, and that are not refined after harvest, are organic foods. Meats, fish, dairy and poultry products from animals that are fed only organically-grown feed and that are not injected with hormones are organic foods.

In choosing the type of food you eat, then, you have basically two choices: inorganic, processed foods, or organic, unprocessed foods. A wise decision should include investigation of the claims that processed foods contain chemicals, some of which ate proven to be poisonous, and that vitamin content is greatly reduced in processed foods.

(30)

A.Refined food.

B.Processed food.

C.Natural food.

D.Organic food.
