You could see it in our games. Nobody organized them. There weren't any competitive sports. But we took part in lots of activities and we were organized, not in the sense that there were wars of finding out who had won and who had lost. We played balls like everyone else, but no one kept scores. Even if we did formally take part in the games we played, no one was a winner though someone may have won. It was only at that moment. If you beat someone by pulling a bow (弓) and arrow (箭) and shooting the arrow further, it didn't mean you were better in any way. It just meant that at that particular time the arrow went further; maybe it was just the way you let the bow go. These kinds of things are very important to me and that is why I am talking about them.
One of the very important things was the relationship we had with our families. We didn't always live at home. We lived wherever we happened to be at that particular time when it got dark. If you were two or three miles away from home, then that was where you slept.
According to the writer, in India ______.
A.all the people were kind and equal in different activities
B.all the people quarreled with each other in every fight
C.people often took part in different fights
D.every child tried to climb to the top of ail the activities

An Awful Afternoon
Sometimes I feel that being the mother of three small children is like running a large circus (马戏团). One afternoon last week, my three sons were playing peacefully in the back yard, throwing the ball from one to the other. I jumped at the chance to talk to one of my friends on the phone, but before I got to the phone, I could tell that the boys had begun to quarrel with each other over something. I rushed out to make peace, but before I got there, Charles had begun to fight over this. Even David, the oldest boy, who won't usually fight with anybody over anything, was involved. First, I made them stop fighting, and then I examined Mark's eye. I decided that it wasn't going to develop into a black eye, but I felt that they should suffer at least a little for what they had done. "I'm going to speak to your father about these when he comes home tonight," I said. "He and I will think of how to punish you." Things were pretty quiet after that for about half an hour, and then Charles broke a glass in the kitchen sink, and at almost the same moment, Mark fell out of the apple tree. I suppose I will be able to laugh at all these things someday. In the meantime, I just pray to heaven for patience.
The mother of the three children is the manager of a large circus.
A.Right
B.Wrong
C.Not mentioned

听力原文: In the city's historic French Quarter and the Garden District, where flooding was less severe, the recovery is already underway.
But in some of the poorest areas, the prospects for recovery are less obvious.
Anna Firstley's house is unsafe, but she's angrier that she wasn't allowed to see what was left of it for three months.
Even worse, says Doreen Keeler, another survivor of the heavy storm, is that 100 days after the disaster, many who lost homes are still not getting the help they need.
People are in the same position as they were three months ago. They need answers. They need help.
U.S. lawmakers investigating what went wrong before, during, and after the heavy storm, heard one frustrating story after another from survivors who say the federal government forgot about the citizens of New Orleans.
Jane Hedges suggested racial prejudice had a hand in the government's response.
As she said: "The military, which has the great capability in moving entire cities, failed to move in and move out the people, the way dogs and fish had been moved out.And people were left to die, mostly poor, mostly people of color."

The couple's daughter Jane Woolley said her parents were both very perky. "She says she can't dance any longer but it feels good to have been married for 80 years," Woolley said. "She says she can still have a drink."
Guinness World Records said the pair held records for the longest marriage for a living couple and the oldest total age of a married couple.
