听力原文: To get a driver's license, you must take a series of tests. The first test is the vision test. This test checks your eyes to see if you have to wear glasses when you drive. The second test is a written test that checks your knowledge of highway and traffic regulations. You can prepare for this test by studying a booklet that you can get at the driver's license office. After you pass the written test, you receive an instruction permit. This permit allows you to practise driving with an experienced driver. The last test you have to take is a road test. This checks your driving ability. If you pass it, you will receive your driver's license.
When you go to the driver's license office to take the road test, you must provide your own vehicle. First, the license examiner checks the mechanical condition of your car. Then, the examiner gets into the car with you and asks you to drive in regular traffic. While you are driving, the examiner tests you for such things as starting, stopping, turning, backing up, and parking. If you can't control the car properly, or if you violate a traffic regulation while you are taking the test, you fail the examination. You will have to practice driving more until you take the road test again and pass it.
(33)
A.Your eye sight.
B.Your driving ability.
C.Your car's mechanical condition.
D.Your knowledge of traffic regulations.

听力原文: Mrs. Brown was over eighty, but she still drove her old car like a woman half her age. She loved driving very fast and boasted of the fact that she had never, in her thirty-five years of' driving, been punished for a driving offence.
Then one day she nearly lost her record. A police car followed her, and the policeman in it saw her pass a red light without stopping.
When Mrs. Brown came before the judge, he looked at her severely and said that she was too old to drive a car, and that the reason why she had not stopped at the red light was most probably that her eyes had become weak with old age, so that she had simply not seen it.
When the judge had finished what he was saying, Mrs. Brown opened the big handbag she was carrying and took out her sewing. Without saying a word, she chose a needle with a very small eye, and threaded it at her first attempt.
When she had successfully done this, she took the thread out of the needle again and handed both the needle and the thread to the judge, saying, "Now it is your turn. I suppose you drive a car, trod that you have no doubt about your own eyesight."
The judge took the needle and tried to thread it.. After half a dozen attempts, he had still not succeeded. The case against Mrs. Brown was dismissed and her record remained unbroken.
(33)
A.She broke her record.
B.She didn't stop at a red light.
C.She saw an accident.
D.She stopped at a red light.

听力原文: One winter evening Mr. Blake was driving in his car along an isolated country road. He had been to New York, in which he had withdrawn 10,000 dollars from the bank.
He was then going back home with the money, which he had put in his pocket. At the loneliest part of the road a middle-aged man in poor clothes stopped him and asked for a lift. Mr. Blake told him to get into the car and continued on his way. As he talked to the man he learned that he had been in prison for robbery and had escaped out of prison three days ago. Mr. Blake was very worried at the thought of the 10,000 dollars in his pocket.
Suddenly he saw a police-car and had a clever idea. He had just reached a small town where the speed limit was 40 miles an hour. He pressed down the accelerator and drove the car as fast as it would go. He looked back and saw the police-car had seen this and had begun to chase him. After a mile or so the police-car overtook him and ordered him to stop.

How Much Will Auto Insurance Cost?
Driver are grouped according to the level of risk each one poses-that is, the amount paid by insurers in each category of policyholders. Insurance companies group drivers in the following way :
Sex: Men have more accidents on the road than women.
Age: Drivers under 25(and for some insurers, under30)are considered more likely to have an accident.
Marital Status: Married drivers tend to have fewer accidents than single drivers.
Personal Driving Record: Years of driving experience , accidents, speeding tickets and drunk-driving offenses are all factors in determining how much of a risk you pose as a motorist.
How You Use Your Vehicle: If you commute by car during rush hour, you are at greater risk of having an accident than if you only drive for errands and recreation on the weekends. Drivers who use their own vehicles for business also are considered to be at a greater risk.
Types of Vehicles: The value, size, weights, age of your vehicle, even the cost of replacement parts are essential to determining the price of your insurance. Larger, heavier vehicles are considered at lower risk than smaller, lighter ones. More expensive cars are costlier to have repaired than economy models so the premium is higher.
Which of the following car damage can be covered by the Comprehensive?
A.Broken window caused by storm
B.Destroyed seats after an earthquake

She had been driving along a country road when she was stopped by a flying saucer landing in front of her. She bad been forced to leave the car and enter the flying saucer by some creatures. These creatures looked like human beings and could easily make themselves understood although they could not speak. It was as though they could read her thoughts and she could read theirs. They treated her politely and allowed her to leave after carrying out a number of tests on her. As she otherwise seemed to be normal, the doctor decided that she was probably suffering from the side effects of some drug. The woman insisted on being allowed to go home but when she gave her address, it was in a town over a thousand miles from the hospital. The police then started to make inquiries, They soon discovered that there was already a search going on for the woman, whose husband had reported that she had disappeared. Her car had been found with the driver's door open and engine running. In front of her car the surface of the road had been completely destroyed, not by any explosion or anything of that kind, but as though a large, circular, wide, hot object had burnt through it.

A.She was lying near a lonely road.
B.She was driving along a lonely road.
C.She was seriously ill.
