W: I did. It was for a work in GM. And, urn, it was a kind of tough process. 1 had to do a whole bunch of different interviews for the job.
M: A bunch of different interviews for the same job?
W: Um, and ah, and it was really a torture. I didn't expect to have to do three interviews, but I did them all in the same day.
M: Three times in the same day, terrible indeed.
W: The first thing I did was interview with a group of about six people, and I think they included some department managers. And they asked me, ob, the usual questions: What I wanted to do with myself, you know, where I saw myself in ten years. Things like that...
M: And then.
W: Then, I had another interview with, um, just an engineer. And he asked me some more questions about content area and my work experience. And then I even had to have an interview with the general manager. And I was quite nervous for that one but I think I did a pretty good job. They said I'd find out in a couple of days if I'm going to be hired.
M: Well, you've got to be pretty excited about that.
W: I am. It's a good opportunity and I hope I get the job.

M: Hello, this is Jerald Seward from MSU. We are going to bold an international symposium on global business at the end of this month and we want to book some conference rooms.
F: No problem. Just a moment, I need to write down some details. Your name, please?
M: Jerald Seward. That's J-E-R-A-L-D Seward, S-E-W-A-R-D. The contact number is 9643-74961.
F: When exactly do you want to book?
M: January 29th to 31st, three days.
F: OK, what kind of rooms do you want?
M: Well, we have about 230 participants. I think we need four mid-sized rooms with multi-media equipment. Each room can hold 50 to 60 people.
F: I am sorry, we only have three mid-sized rooms available at that time. But we have a big one which can hold 100 people.
M: Well, since there is no enough room, that will be OK. By the way, how do you charge?
F: It's $300 for mid-sized rooms and $400 for the big one per day. If you have the membership, we can give you a 20% discount.
M: Oh, yes, we do have the membership. So that would be $240 for a mid-sized room and $320 for a big room per day. Does that include tea, coffee, and snacks?
F: No, you have to pay extra for that. $10 per person each day if you want that.
M: Oh, no, I think I'll save that. Can you transfer payment from our account?
F: Sure, is your account number still MH52775-3218

听力原文:W: Purchasing Department. Can I help you?
M: Hi, Jane, this is Albert Steward from Samuel Publishing House. One of our printers stopped working completely so we have to buy a new one now. We've got tremendous amount of work to do recently.
W: OK, let me see, the same model you bought last time?
M: No, we want to buy a laser printer, this time. That would make our work much easier.
W: Yes, the newest model available now is Canon 510. It is a laser printer and the speed of printing is really fast.
M: How much is the price then?
W: 1,569 dollars, but it saves your expense on ink.
M: I know, but it's still a bit more expensive than we expected. Is there any discount?
W: I think we can only give you a 5% discount at most. So that would be $1,490.
M: Since we need them urgently, I think we'll take this one.
W: OK, shall we have it sent directly to your office?
M: Oh, that would be nice. Is it possible to have them sent over this afternoon?
W: No problem. I'll make a note on the order form. By the way, I'd like to know your method of payment.
M: Well, can I have your account number please? We can transfer from the bank.
W: Sure, it's 39672752, Commercial Bank.
M: OK, thanks a lot, Jane. That's very kind of you.
W: You are welcome. See you then.

听力原文:Man1: Benson.
Man2: Mr. Benson, hello. Pat Thompson of Weald here. Thanks for your letter of the 29th March. I got it today and I'm phoning to save time.
Man1: Ah yes, thanks. So, is it all right if I come to your place next week?
Man2: It certainly is. We're pleased that you could arrange it for the 10th. Our Managing Director, Wesley Weald, is looking forward to seeing you this time, too. And I feel that a personal discussion is best if we want to work out the terms of the contract satisfactorily.
Man1: Quite right. It's so much simpler than lots of letters.
Man2: Now, Mr. Benson, tell me. Shall we make a hotel reservation for you?
Man1: Well, yes. that would be great. I was really wondering whether to stay in London or in Wafford.
Man2: Well. we're hoping that you'll be our guest at dinner on Monday evening.
Man1: That's very kind of you.
Man2: So it may be convenient for you to stay locally at the King's Head Hotel. It's a good hotel, not too luxurious but quite comfortable.
Man1: Yes, that sounds fine. Would you arrange for them to put me up on Sunday and Monday night, then?
Man2: OK, I'll see to that. Sunday the 9th and Monday the 10th.
Man1: Could you let me have the phone number of the hotel?
Man2: Yes,hang on a second. Here it is… 0923 7372218.
Man1: Right… 0923 7372218. Is it easy to find?
Man2: If you're coming from London, there's a very good train service to Wafford and the hotel's just round the corner from the station, at 2 Harrow Road. And if you're flying to Heathrow, it would be simplest to take a taxi. It's not too far.
Man1: That's what I'll do then. Now let me see. You're expecting me at 11 o'clock, aren't you?
Man2: Yes, if that suits you. Look, I'll tell you what I'll do. If you're staying at the King's Head Hotel, shall I come and fetch you at, say. a quarter to eleven, and bring you to our office?
Man1: Well, if you would.
Man2: Fine, that's fixed then. Is there anything else you might need?
Man1: No, I don't think so. You're very helpful, Mr. Thompson.
Man2: Not at all. Well, I hope you have a good trip.
Man1: Thanks a lot. See you on the 10th then. Goodbye now.
Man2:Yes. See you next time. Bye now.
